Case study – High net worth household insurance
Background
An existing client of Taylor Patterson Insurance Services unfortunately suffered a large flood to his private house. The house was located on the edge of a fast flowing stream which flooded as a result of a freak event where a log, washed downstream collected dead leaves and debris. This formed a dam which swelled the river to such an extent that the client’s house and garage flooded causing damage to the building, the contents and the clients’ Aston Martin motor vehicle.
Challenges
The challenge was to achieve an equitable settlement for the client whilst at the same time ensuring a speedy resolution to the claim demonstrating our ability to manage claims effectively and deliver superlative service.
What Taylor Patterson did
A specialist loss adjuster was appointed to commence the reinstatement process. Given the nature and extent of damage to the client’s vehicle, it was delivered to a specialist Aston garage.
The claim was dealt with in a sensitive manner and the client’s wishes were adhered to. A strong working relationship then developed due to the professionalism shown by Taylor Patterson Insurance Services, whose dialogue between the client and the Insurer, working closely with all parties, helped to bring a speedy and efficient resolution to a challenging claim.
The Results
A comprehensive action plan developed by the client, loss adjuster and Taylor Patterson ensured that the property damage was rectified. Sadly, the Aston Martin was written off, however, the client was given the value of the car in full and a replacement vehicle was arranged.
The client was also given professional advice to avoid a similar incident reoccurring. As a result of this risk management advice there has been a successful resolution to risk prevention.
